The Black Friday Bride: 5 Items to buy on the best shopping holiday.

With the holidays fast approaching, I always make a list of things I need for the coming year that tend to go on sale on Black Friday. Not only can you score great Christmas deals, but you can get some much needed supplies for your wedding. Typically Black Friday ads start to show up in the first week or two of November to allow shoppers to make their list and check it twice! Read on for lists of things that tend to go on sale on Black Friday and what I have my eyes open for personally:

1) Jewelry! Engagement season is once again rearing its head.  Many jewelers will have holiday/Black Friday sales to entice people to buy engagement rings however, most of their other stock will be on sale including wedding bands, and other pieces of jewelry you may want to wear or
gift.  Check out the promo emailed to me above by Helzbeg diamonds.  Now this is more of a pre-Black Friday sale, but as I am still looking for my wedding band, you can bet I'm going to browse! Expect offers like this to continue throughout the holiday season.

2) Decor and crafting supplies. For those DIY Brides out there, Black Friday (and sometimes after Christmas sales) can be a perfect time to score some needed items for the wedding. On my personal Black Friday list in this department are silk flowers (Connor wants his groomsmen to be able to keep their boutonnieres), card stock, a Die Cutting Machine, twinkle/ Christmas lights, etc. Most craft stores have wedding supply sections as well, and also sell fabric for those looking to make anything wearable be it gifts for the bridal party, your own gown, or your ring pillow. Check out this old 2015 Joann fabric Black Friday add- 25% off including sale items can help stretch your budget a long way!

3) Clothing/ Accessories/ Shoes. If you're looking for a white reception dress, or dresses for other bridal events- engagement party, engagement photos, bridal shower, bachelorette party- Black Friday could be just what you need. Other things that will be on sale in the wearables include lingerie, shoes, scarves, ties, makeup, bowties, tuxes/ suits and hair accessories so if you already know what you're looking for and the price is right, go for it!

4) Electronics. If you're going to DIY any aspect of your wedding video, photography, or photobooth, Black Friday can be a great time to snag some deals. Go Pros and DSLR cameras almost always go on sale. Check the prices before and during Black Friday to be sure you're getting a good deal.

5) Favors and Gifts. Black Friday can be a great time to stock up on non-perishable items for your favors or gifts for your bridal party. Matching floral robes may go on sale (if I see a good enough deal I'll snag mine on Black Friday), terra cotta planters, mugs, luggage tags, etc. You can buy blank items on Black Friday from any retailer and customize or check out shops that cater towards brides such as The Knot's Wedding Shop, and David's Bridal.

Now remember- you're not saving money if you're buying something you wouldn't normally want just because it's on sale. Just like going grocery shopping, it's best to go Black Friday shopping with a list to avoid impulse purchases. If you don't want to brave the crowds, Black Friday deals extend to the internet as well!

To get great deals year round, subscribe to mailing lists for any stores you're interested in. I keep a separate email account just for this purpose and when an item on my list shows up a good price point, I purchase it. Non-wedding related examples of this in the past have been an 18 piece Chicago Cutlery knife set I bought for $30, a Canon t5i bundle with two lenses for $200, and a pair of diamond earrings for $20.
